Bubble & Squeak
About 10 months ago several women were drinking out of
the same water fountain. We are sure
this is true because, here it is, ten-months later and we’re getting invited
to a lot of baby showers, we’re receiving baby announcements, and everything
just seems to be popping up pink and blue. This is good news to at least one mom
we know. Wendy Ruffner, owner of BubbleandSqueak.com,
is possibly sitting on a goldmine.
Wendy is a mom, who, at her kitchen table, gave birth to a product
idea. Her idea was to create a diaper
bag that was fashionable, yet small enough to fit into her other handbags. Wendy got out her sewing machine and
put together her first Bubble & Squeak bag. With her prototype ready she sent her
designs overseas and months later a freight ship carrying a crate filled with
hundreds of diaper bags pulled up to the dock for Wendy. The future of Wendy’s baby bag business was
born. “Who says you cannot look
fabulous carrying diapers?” says Wendy.
“They will definitely help organize all of baby’s fiddly-bits, and
protect his/her diapers from the dodgy bits at the bottom of your favorite, I-feel-fabulous
bag!” |

However,
Wendy’s real work is just now beginning.
Wendy needs to get her handbags into shopping bags. She recently took her first retail order
from a baby boutique and launched her website, BubbleAndSqueak.com.
Wendy’s success will not come from taking the risk and ordering
hundreds of diaper bags, rather, it will come from her determination and her
ability to follow through with her dream.
